Terms & Conditions

These terms apply whenever you purchase a website unit or the Install Service from www.codecrane.co.uk ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order you agree to be bound by them.

Who we are

CodeCrane [Company name and registered company number to be added here], of [registered business address] ("CodeCrane", "we", "us"). You can contact us via our contact page or at admin@codecrane.co.uk.

Definitions

  • Website Unit — a complete website fileset (source code) and accompanying schema.sql database file offered for sale on this site.
  • Install Service — the optional paid service where we install and configure a Website Unit on your hosting on your behalf.
  • You — the individual or business purchasing a Website Unit and/or the Install Service.

Placing an order and payment

Orders are placed through our website and paid for via PayPal, which processes all card and PayPal balance payments on our behalf. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your order is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed, and a confirmation email is sent to the address you provide at checkout.

Delivery of Website Units

Website Units are digital products delivered electronically. Once payment is confirmed you'll receive a download link (by email and in your account area) for the zip fileset and schema.sql database file. Delivery is treated as complete once the download link has been issued, whether or not you choose to download it immediately.

Your right to cancel — digital content

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. However, because Website Units are digital content supplied immediately on download, this cancellation right is lost once you begin downloading the fileset, provided you have given your express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right to cancel — which you do by completing your purchase on this site. If you have not yet downloaded your fileset, contact us and we will consider cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis.

The Install Service

Where you purchase the Install Service, you agree to provide accurate hosting/cPanel access details and to respond promptly to any information we request in order to complete the installation. We will install and configure the relevant Website Unit on the hosting environment you provide, and carry out reasonable testing to confirm it is working correctly. We cannot guarantee compatibility with hosting configurations that do not meet the minimum requirements published for that Website Unit, and we are not responsible for issues caused by your hosting provider, including outages, resource limits, or configuration changes made after installation.

Licence and restrictions

Purchasing a Website Unit grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use that Website Unit's source code for a single live website per purchase. You may modify the code for your own use on that installation. You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, or redistribute the source code, in whole or in part, as a stand-alone product or template;
  • use a single purchase to power more than one live, independently-branded website without buying an additional licence;
  • claim authorship of the underlying codebase itself (the website you build with it, and its content, is entirely yours).

Intellectual property

All Website Unit source code, design assets, and documentation remain the intellectual property of CodeCrane (or our licensors) until and except as licensed to you under "Licence and restrictions" above. Content you add to your installed website — your business details, images, listings, and copy — remains entirely yours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use any Website Unit for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel an order where we reasonably believe it is being used for such purposes.

Limitation of liability

We provide Website Units and the Install Service with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, business, or data, arising from your use of a Website Unit. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Refunds and disputes

Because of the digital, instant-delivery nature of Website Units (see "Your right to cancel — digital content" above), refunds are not offered once a fileset has been downloaded, except where the product is faulty, materially not as described, or where required by law. If you believe there is a problem with your order, contact us first — we will always try to resolve issues directly before you need to raise a formal dispute.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force at the time you place an order is the one that applies to that order. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown below.
